I work with people who are experiencing pelvic symptoms such as incontinence (leaking), urinary frequency and urgency, and pelvic pain (including menstrual pain).

I take a mindful, compassionate, and whole-person approach to help clients find relief from their symptoms and restore their capacity and trust in their pelvic floor.

You might be wondering what a mindful, compassionate, and whole-person approach looks like.
To me, it looks like this:
Listening: I want to hear your story. I’m interested in what you think is going on, and what you feel still needs to be done. I’m curious about what you’ve tried before that has felt like you might be on the right track, and what has felt completely wrong to you.
Working collaboratively: I acknowledge that you bring a lifetime of experience in your body and I aim to work with you in a way that honours not only this experience, but also your unique values and wisdom. As we work together, I might offer, say, a mindful movement practice, or perhaps some gentle manual body work (often in the form of myofascial release), but it will always be your choice how we proceed, and your response to each practice will inform our next steps.
Deliberately slowing down: In order for you to feel heard and for us to truly explore your concerns collaboratively, we need to afford ourselves the space for this work. This means that our work is more likely to fit comfortably into 45- or 60-minute follow-up appointments than the 20- or 30-minute health care appointments you may be more familiar with. In a culture that encourages us to do more in less time, we will explore the richness that can emerge when we allow ourselves to slow down. To feel. To notice and get curious.

February update

A new home:

Dufferin Medical Centre, which was the home of Nurtured Wellness, has closed its doors. Appointments are now taking place out of a home-based clinic near Dufferin and Geary in Toronto.

Yoga therapy sessions:

As a certifying yoga therapist currently completing my practicum, I am now able to offer private and small-group yoga therapy sessions. Private sessions are currently being offered at the introductory rate of $50 (60-75 minutes).

Wondering what yoga therapy is? In short, yoga therapy is an evidence-informed holistic form of health care that attends to the mind, body, and spirit to offer relief from symptoms/struggles through yoga-based practices such as movement, breath practices, meditation, and/or compassionate awareness practices. Potential clients do not need to have any background in yoga (and certainly don’t need to be flexible!).

Curious to learn more? You can book a free 15-minute discovery call to have your questions answered and determine if it might be a fit, with absolutely no pressure to book a session thereafter. You can also check out the “Yoga Therapy” page.

About Nurtured Wellness

My work with clients falls under the categories of pelvic and orthopaedic (whole-body) physiotherapy and yoga therapy (certifying). I am a licensed physiotherapist in Ontario and am rostered to provide internal pelvic assessments and treatments.

For those outside of Ontario, or not interested in physiotherapy assessment and treatment, I provide one-on-one yoga therapy (I am a certifying yoga therapist in the practicum portion of my studies).

About my therapeutic approach

I have seen time and again how tending to the nervous system can effect profound change. I aim to provide your being with a safe enough environment to notice existing patterns with compassion and explore novel alternatives. To do so, I use practices including embodied movement, breath and meditation practices, and myofascial release.

About my clients

I work with clients of all genders with a variety of conditions and diagnoses, including:
  • Pelvic pain (including menstrual pain, bladder pain, and pain with intercourse)
  • Incontinence (leaking)
  • Diastasis rectus abdominis and pelvic organ prolapse
  • Chronic constipation and irritable bowel syndrome
  • Persisting injuries and/or chronic pain
  • Back and neck pain.
I offer pregnancy, postpartum, and peri/postmenopausal care.
I also work with performing artists experiencing performance-related pain or physical limitations.

Wondering if my approach may be helpful for you?

I offer free 15-min discovery calls to help determine if my services are a good fit for you. You can book a discovery call through the online booking system (button to the right).
