More about my approach

My goal is to promote health and well-being through a holistic approach that honours each individual’s values and goals. To do this, I work with individuals to identify their goals for care and to explore factors that may be contributing to the challenge they have identified. We take a broad view in looking at contributing factors, recognizing the impact of the whole body and mind, as well as the environment, on health and well-being. Our therapeutic approach focuses on using mindful movement to help restore the body’s innate ability to heal and thrive. Along the way, we nurture a gentle curiosity, a joyful approach to movement, and improved self-awareness and confidence.

While each individual’s goals will be slightly different, goals may include:

  • Reducing pain and discomfort;
  • Increasing function and health-related quality of life;
  • Identifying and reducing barriers to healing;
  • Identifying and reducing barriers to optimal performance;
  • Implementing sustainable lifestyle modifications that promote greater well-being now and in the future.

Note: services are offered in person or online. Physiotherapy services are available to Ontario residents only.

About me

Linnea Thacker, MScPT, DMA is a physiotherapist, yoga instructor, and the founder of Nurtured Wellness. She has completed training in pelvic health and persistent pain, and is rostered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario to perform internal pelvic floor physiotherapy.

Linnea has been teaching yoga for a decade, and appreciates how her yoga instruction and physiotherapy work have allowed her to bring her various passions together, including working with people who are seeking greater function, comfort, and ease of movement; working with people through pregnancy and the postpartum period; and working with performing artists. In addition to a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy, Linnea holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree, with a research focus on ways of incorporating health promotion in music education.

When not taking additional courses or working with clients, Linnea enjoys playing with and learning from her young children, making music, practising yoga, and being outside in nature. Linnea also loves food (and cooking) and welcomes any recipe recommendations!
